Help kids get the supplies they need

Anthony Pauzuolis of Boy Scout Troop 113 is organizing a school supply drive for less fortunate children who can not afford these supplies.

The drive will be held the weekends of Aug. 11 and 18 at the Wal-Marts in Darien, Orland Hills, Bloomingdale, East Dundee and Evergreen Park for Pauzuolis' Eagle Scout Leadership Service Project.

Come down and support the needy children.

Support helps deal with emotions

Family Alliance's Alzheimer's Dementia Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Topic is "Emotions: Can't Live with Them; Can't Live Without Them." Many emotions surround caregiving as a family member is challenged by the various changes that can occur as a result of different types of dementia. The group will help you find ways to release emotions as well as put them into perspective. Usually people carry emotions around and judge them.

The facilitators of the group, Lynda Market and Bonnie Beam-Stratz will help you better understand why certain emotions occur and what you can do abut them.

If you have any questions about the topic, the support group or if you have never attended a support group before, call Family Alliance at (815) 338-3590 and speak with Markut, Beam-Stratz of Cheryl Levinson.
