Army National Guard Pvt. David R. Fletcher III, son of David R. Fletcher II of Schaumburg and Kristine L. Markotay of Kell, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier received training in drill and ceremonies, weapons, map reading, tactics, military courtesy, military justice, physical fitness, first aid, and Army history, core values and traditions. Additional training included development of basic combat skills and battlefield operations and tactics, and experiencing use of various weapons and weapons defenses available to the infantry crewman.
•Army National Guard Pfc. Michael J. Cosentino, son of Ann Cosentino of Schaumburg, graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga.

Cosentino is a 2003 graduate of Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights.
•Army National Guard Pvt. Kevin M. Silva, son of Laurette Silva, Villa Park, and grandson of Olivia Silva, Schaumburg, graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.
During the nine weeks of training, the soldier studied the Army mission, history, tradition and core values, physical fitness, and received instruction and practice in basic combat skills, military weapons, chemical warfare and bayonet training, drill and ceremony, marching, rifle marksmanship, armed and unarmed combat, map reading, field tactics, military courtesy, military justice system, basic first aid, foot marches, and field training exercises.
Silva is a 2003 graduate of Willowbrook High School in Villa Park.
