    A 27-year-old man who was shot by the owner of a St. Charles Township home the man was burglarizing in March was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison. Michael G. Huston, of the 300 block of Walnut Street, St. Charles, faced up to 15 years in prison on the residential burglary charge.

    Kelsi T. Stoke, 18, St. Charles, was arrested on a warrant out of Kane County on charges of marijuana possession after a deputy found her and her 26-year-old boyfriend sleeping in a car in the parking lot at 12:46 a.m. Wednesday at the Windings Clubhouse, 42W346 Retreat Court, St. Charles, according to a sheriff’s report.

  • Tri-Cities police reports Sep 4, 2014 4:09 PM
    Vinyl records, a flat-screen TV, Wii gaming system, laptop computer, 10 swords, a hunting knife, rifle, shotgun and a bottle of vodka were stolen between 7 a.m. and 4:44 p.m. Aug. 29 from a home on the 43W900 block of Base Line Road near Sugar Grove after someone broke the glass doors on the porch to gain entry, according to a sheriff’s report.

    Volunteers are needed to clear debris from a stretch of Willow Creek through east Elgin and a nearby park Sept. 13. Hanover Township, the Elgin chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America and Neighborhood Housing Services of the Fox Valley are hosting the cleanup. “This is a great opportunity for everyone to come together and really make a difference,” league President John Ziegler said.
