Donations needed for new baby event June 1-5
Is your house cluttered with gently used baby items? Do you want to support local families and keep items out of our landfills? Donate to the Township of Schaumburg’s inaugural Free Baby Gear Swap event. Donations are being accepted from June 1-5 and will be distributed to the community for free on June 13. The township is collecting clean, gently-used or new items for babies from birth through 1 year old.
Collection Sites:
• Township of Schaumburg, 1 Illinois Blvd., Hoffman Estates.
• Office of Commissioner Kevin Morrison, 1325 Wiley Road Suite 141, Schaumburg.
• Schaumburg Township District Library Central Library, 130 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg
• Schaumburg Township District Library Hoffman Estates Branch, 1550 Hassell Road, Hoffman Estates
• Schaumburg Township District Library Hanover Park Branch, 1266 Irving Park Road, Hanover Park
Items accepted include (but are not limited to) clothing, swaddles/blankets, bedding, décor, toys, books, feeding items (must be new), small carriers, small strollers, sound machines, baby tubs, first aid supplies (must be new), diaper bags, diapers/wipes, changing pads, pacifiers (must be new), pack ‘n’ plays and more. Open diaper packages will be accepted.
Items that will not be accepted include cribs, car seats, expired items (including formula), baby bottles. used breast pumps or breast pump accessories and used pacifiers.
