Pat and Ron Benshish downsize with ease at The Regency of Bowes Creek

The decision to downsize is often a difficult one. But, for Pat and Ron Benshish, that decision was made easy with Toll Brothers at The Regency of Bowes Creek in Elgin.

"When we retired in 2016 and decided it was time to downsize from our single-family home in West Chicago, our new hobby became visiting senior developments and open houses throughout the western suburbs," Pat Benshish said. "We toured a lot of communities but kept coming back to Bowes Creek."

Nestled in a picturesque setting amid views of the 18-hole public golf course designed by renowned golf course architect Rick-Jacobson, Bowes Creek Country Club includes scenic walking trails, an on-site restaurant and bar, Porter's Pub, and a convenient location near the Randall Road shopping and entertainment corridor.

Toll Brothers offers four series of homes at Bowes Creek including, low-maintenance, luxury townhomes, two collections of spacious single-family home and The Regency at Bowes Creek, a neighborhood for those 55+, featuring a private clubhouse with fitness center, men and women locker rooms, heated outdoor pool, library, billiards, social rooms and on-site social director dedicated to planning weekly classes, programs and excursions.

"The value that Toll Brothers offered in comparison to the other builders we visited was incomparable," Pat said. "The homes included more upscale features and the Stamford plan was affordable and perfect for us."

The 1,720-square-foot Stamford is one of seven ranch and first-floor master designs offered in The Regency collection. Highlights include two to four bedrooms, study, gourmet kitchen open to a spacious dining area and great room, master bedroom suite with tray ceiling, walk-in closet and luxury bath, covered porch, basement and attached two-car garage.

"We really enjoy the open dining room and great room," Pat said. "For 25 years, we had a big, beautiful dining room table that we rarely used in our old house but in this house we use it all the time. We opted to expand our kitchen, which added additional cabinets and counter space. We will have 16 here for Mother's Day and entertain comfortably. We also like the den, where we have a sofa-sleeper, which adds more room for visitors."

The Regency is in its final phase and homesites are selling quickly with limited, tree-lined views remaining. In addition, Toll Brothers National Sales Event, going on through April 29, gives buyers the opportunity to take advantage of money-saving incentives.

"We have very nice neighbors and enjoy being as involved as we want to be," Pat said. "We are not golfers but enjoy the amenities offered at Bowes Creek. We went to the St. Patrick's Day party at the clubhouse and look forward to the pool opening party in May. On the first Wednesday of the month we meet friends at the Pub for $5 burgers."

The Bowes Creek sales office is located at 3511 Tournament Drive in Elgin, IL and is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. To visit, take I-90 or Route 20 west to Randall Road, south to Bowes Road, right (west) to the community and Bowes Creek Boulevard on the south side of the road.
