Dundee Lions host free kids' eye health vision event June 28

The Dundee Lions will provide free vision pre-screening tests for children, ages 6 months to 10 years, on Thursday, June 28, at the Dundee Public Library, 555 Barrington Ave. in East Dundee.

Registration for one of three sessions is appreciated but not required.

The sessions are 10 a.m. to noon, 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m.

The Dundee Lions will administer the test using their new PlusoptiX Screener. It is very child-friendly, as it works just like a camera and takes just seconds to administer. The screener, which looks for nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, can be an important tool to identify eye conditions that interfere with learning if left unaddressed.

Register online at www.frvpld.info or call the library at (847) 428-3661, press 3.

The district serves 70,000 residents of Carpentersville, East Dundee, West Dundee, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts, and parts of Algonquin.
