Sponsorships welcome for Dundee Memorial Day Parade

The annual Dundee Memorial Day Parade will step off at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 27.

This year, along the parade route, a group of youth will be re-creating the raising of the U.S. flag at Iwo Jima during World War II.

Lineup will begin at 1 p.m. The annual parade begins at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Main and Van Buren streets in East Dundee, heads west on Main Street, and ends with a short ceremony at Grafelman Park in West Dundee.

Businesses or individuals interested in marching in the parade should call Bobbie Andresen at (847) 915-2884.

The Tri-City Evergreen Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2298 invites the community to its weekly Steak Fry from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursdays at the post home, 117 S. First St. in West Dundee. The menu also includes your choice of potato or salad. Cost is $12. Carryouts are offered. Call (847) 428-9006.
