Peace of Art gallery opens in Bloomingdale

New local gallery fresh on the scene, Peace of Art in Bloomingdale focuses on encouraging creativity, validating its artists efforts and using their voices to spread awareness.

Their first event honored Chicago's homeless community through giveabox.org to create boxes of necessities to hand out to individuals in need. The gallery's represented artists painted live for their patrons to bid on their artwork. Proceeds went to Give A Box's organization.

In the summer months, the art will be geared more towards the skateboard culture, while spreading awareness for suicide prevention through Warp Corps, another local non profit. The gallery has connected with over 20 artists across the U.S to mail in their painted, handmade or broken skate boards in honor of art and helping others. Owner Jennifer Mroz and her husband, Jeff, have been amazed by the amount of artists that have dropped in to share their work and stories. The bold and shy have found a community in Peace of Art and the husband/wife duo hope to create a strong group of individuals looking to impact our community in a positive way.

Peace of Art Gallery was established Jan. 1st, 2018 and is located in Stratford Square Mall on the upper level, across from Express. They began their business to help fight the battles of others who have past before us, to promote peace, and to offer human kindness as their retail service.
