Fox River Trail resurfacing work scheduled in Dundee

Fox River Trail users in Dundee Township may experience brief closures for three weeks beginning Wednesday, Sept. 20, due to a planned trail-resurfacing project.

Each year, the Forest Preserve District of Kane County plans for resurfacing of up to four miles of trail as part of its ongoing, preventive maintenance program.

This year's project consists of resurfacing a one-mile section of the Fox River Trail, from Covey Street in Dundee, north to William Avenue in East Dundee. While the trail will be open on this stretch, trail users may experience intermittent closures for the resurfacing project, including pulverizing, repaving and landscape restoration.

The Forest Preserve District asks trail users to watch for construction equipment and workers in the project zone and to plan for possible delays. There is signage at both ends of the project area to notify trail users.

For more information, call Forest Preserve District headquarters at (630) 232-5980.
