The Holmstad to host Senior Health and Fitness Fair May 31

In celebration of National Senior Health & Fitness Day, the public is invited to attend the Senior Health and Fitness Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, at The Holmstad, 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

It is free and open to the public. This year's National Senior Health & Fitness Day theme is "With Movement, There Is Improvement."

During the fair, guests will discover fun ways to maximize fitness and wellness by staying on the move. At 1 p.m., keynote speaker Anne Lindstrom, stroke program manager for the Comprehensive Stroke Program at Central DuPage Hospital and the primary stroke program at Delnor Hospital, will discuss the signs and symptoms of a stroke; prevention; and innovations in stroke care, including treatment.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a farmers market with fresh produce for sale, fee hand and chair massages, free health screenings, and raffles and giveaways.

From 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., watch the cooking demonstrations featuring healthy recipes and tasty samples.

At 1 p.m., the keynote speaker will be Anne Lindstrom.

There is no charge for admittance. Guests are encouraged to help The Holmstad support Wayside Cross Ministries by donating a disposable razor and/or deodorant.
