Field students celebrate Arbor Day

First graders from Field Elementary School celebrated Arbor Day on Wednesday by planting a tree with help from the Village of Wheeling. In addition to learning facts about trees, each student received a special gift from the Village: a packet of wildflower seeds and an activity book.

"We appreciate the support from the Village of Wheeling and our School Board members to foster this partnership and share with our students the importance of Arbor Day," said Luis Bonilla, Principal of Field Elementary School.

To mark the occasion, students presented posters, sang a song, and read a poem about the importance of trees to our environment.
