Where to find cruise nights on Randall Road

As you're cruising up and down the Randall Road corridor this summer, you might want to stop to check out some cool cars parked at various businesses along the way for classic cruise nights.

Depending on the night of the week, you're likely to find the classic cars from the north to the south along Randall Road.

For example, on Sunday nights, you'll find classic cars of all kinds near Rookies in Elgin at 2486 Bushwood Drive, just off Randall Road near the Northwest Tollway (I-90).

Organizers say cars usually start showing up around 5 or 5:30 p.m.

If you're bringing a car, once you arrive, you can register at the business. If you have any questions before then, you can call (847) 551-9006.

Further to the south, Rookies in St. Charles has classic car nights on Mondays.

The cars start rolling into the parking lot of the business at 1545 W. Main Street around 5 p.m., organizers said.

The cars are usually around from about 5:30 to 9 p.m. if you want to take a look at some of the classic rides.

If you're looking for an experience to match the times of the classic cars, you might want to stop at Sonic Drive-In along Randall Road in Algonquin.

On Tuesday nights, classic cars gather in the parking lot across from Sonic at 1090 S. Randall Road.

At the drive-in itself, you can get your food from carhops on roller skates just as many originally did in cars similar to the ones lining up for classic car night.

The cars usually start gathering around 6 p.m., and spectators are milling around the blasts from the past by 7 p.m.

For information call Sonic at (847) 458-6220.

Other spots along Randall Road host car nights, but not weekly.

For example, the Culver's in Carpentersville at 8000 Miller Road hosts classic car nights once a month during the summer.

There are two more this year at the Randall Road-area business. One will be on Aug. 10, and the other on Sept. 14.

The shows take place from 5:30 to 8 p.m. For information, call (847) 649-3225.

Fradillio's in Algonquin, just east of Randall Road at 2321 W. Algonquin Road, will be hosting a car show on Sunday, Aug. 21.

The show will run from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

There will be a DJ and giveaways, organizers said.

Registration for cars that want to participate is $5 and can be done on site.

For information call (847) 854-5500.
