New mural debuts Monday in downtown Geneva

The community is invited to cover the dedication of a major new piece of public art located in downtown Geneva.

A six-panel mosaic tile mural was created by Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors as a gift to the community in honor of the organization's 10 years in Geneva.

The dedication will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, June 6, at 121 S. Third St. It will be held rain or shine.

Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and representatives of Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors, Geneva Foundation for the Arts and others will speak. Ice cream sundaes, cones and lemonade will be served after the dedication.

The mural was designed by local artist Danielle Dobies based ideas expressed by Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors families and drawings by the children. Fox Valley Jewish Neighbors families and friends assembled the mural with financial support from the Geneva Foundation for the Arts. The mural panels illustrate common values of the Tri-Cities community and the beauty of the area. Additional information on the project will be available at the dedication.
