Support veterans with annual turkey raffle Nov. 21 in Geneva

The Fox River-Geneva American Legion Post 75 will hold its annual turkey raffle Saturday, Nov. 21, at the post home, Second and James streets, Geneva.

This is one of Geneva's most anticipated events and the regulars fill the hall quickly so they strongly encourage all to get there as early as possible.

Doors open at 5 p.m. with the raffle starting as soon as they have enough people to spin the wheel and continuing until prizes, turkeys and people are gone.

Come out and experience the chance to win a gift certificate to fine dining, jewelry, Kane County Cougars baseball tickets, landscaping services, beauty salons, and shopping certificates, as well as the turkeys being raffled off the entire evening.

A cash bar will be open with mixed drinks, beer, wine and soft drinks.

The master of ceremonies, lovely assistant, and "almost famous guest spinners" give the wheel a workout throughout the evening, with "Red, White and Blue specials" popping up that offer even more chances to win. Every spin produces a winner.

All proceeds go to local student scholarships and making the holidays brighter for veterans, and most importantly, those that are hospitalized at this time of year, by providing gifts and much needed necessities. Everyone wins by helping veterans and supporting the futures of well-deserving students.

It's a lifetime of fun rolled up into a few hours. Not only do you win, but veterans win. It's not just about the turkeys.
