Jaycees celebrate 14 years in Hoffman Estates
The Hoffman Estates Jaycees are celebrating their fourteenth anniversary of the start of their Chapter at their regular monthly meeting which is open to the public on Wednesday, August 19th starting at 7:00 PM at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall at 1900 Hassel Road in Hoffman Estates.
"Our chapter is relatively young compared to the founding of the first organization 100 years ago in St. Louis." said Keith Colgrove, 2015 Hoffman Estates Jaycee President. "The Jaycees empower members to make an impact in local communities in Hoffman Estates and around the world."
The not for profit civic organization is open to anyone 21-40 who is interested in community service, leadership training, new friendships and personal enrichment. The Hoffman Estates Jaycees is affiliated with the US Jaycees and Junior Chamber International.
"Joining the Jaycees is a great way to meet people while making an impact in the community," said Chapter Vice President, Navylia Abele. "To celebrate its anniversary, The Hoffman Estates Jaycees is offering new members who join in August a 50% membership discount so we can expand our impact." The Chapter runs a wide variety of projects and fundraisers. At the end of the fiscal year all of the profit generated from Chapter projects less Chapter expenses is funneled back into the community. Included in these projects are the Make a Difference Day Food Drive, projects to benefit Nothing but Nets and scholarships and others, which benefit the community directly and help raise money. Past trainings have included investments, first time home buyer's workshop, parliamentary procedure, Resume Writing, How To Use Social Media, Public Speaking, and more.
The Hoffman Estates Jaycees meet at 7:00 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month at the Hoffman Estates Village Hall Training room, 1900 Hassel Rd. in Hoffman Estates.
