An Eagle Scout donated over 50 fleece blankets to Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge

Scott Grgurich, a 15 year-old boy from Elk Grove, Illinois has recently completed his Eagle Scout Project that involved Advocate Children's Hospital. In order to earn his Eagle Scout rank, Scott had to demonstrate leadership for others, while performing a project for the benefit of his community. He chose to raise money and make fleece blankets for the babies at Advocate Children's Hospital in Park Ridge.

At birth, Scott's life was saved at Advocate Children's Hospital after many complications and 10 hard days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Scott chose to donate the blankets in order to give back to the hospital that saved his life and is constantly working hard to save the lives of other children.

Scott and his family delivered the blankets to Advocate Children's Hospital - Park Ridge campus on August 12, 2015. The supplies for the blankets were bought with the generous donations of neighbors, friends and family, and all the blankets were hand cut and tied. These generous gifts will provide a special comfort and lift the spirits of young patients, as they receive medical treatments.
