Aurora Community Acupuncture celebrates grand opening

Aurora Community Acupuncture is celebrating its grand opening on Monday Aug. 10, to Friday, Aug. 14, by offering free acupuncture treatments to all new patients.

"So many people have never tried acupuncture before. Our free grand opening week allows people to experience the healing, relaxing ability of acupuncture for themselves and lets them find out how acupuncture can help with their individual health concerns," states Andrea Gustafson, a licensed acupuncturist. Andrea grew up in Moline, Ill., and has been practicing acupuncture for 7 years in St. Paul, Minn., and Moline and has performed thousands of treatments.

Aurora Community Acupuncture offers high quality, affordable acupuncture treatments to adults and children in a serene group setting where fees are based on a sliding scale of $20-$40. Patients pay what they can afford in this range without any proof of income requirements. This allows people to come in often enough feel better and stay better. Andrea says "Community acupuncture treats people with a wide array of health problems - pain, allergies, anxiety, infertility, fibromyalgia, migraine headaches, and many other health concerns in a nurturing, tranquil setting."

Community acupuncture is a unique clinic model that is growing across the country. Currently, there are over 200 community acupuncture clinics nationwide, with only a few of those clinics in Illinois. The mission of community acupuncture is to make acupuncture accessible and affordable so that more people can benefit from this gentle medicine. In 2014, over 1 million treatments were given in a community acupuncture setting, according to the annual survey conducted by the People's Organization of Community Acupuncture.
