Enjoy free concerts Saturdays in Highland Park

The Jammin' In Jens Jensen Park free concert series features an eclectic mix of world, folk and jazz musicians from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays through August in the Ravinia District in Highland Park.

Kicking off in June 2015, Jammin' In Jens Jensen Park has hosted successful family concerts with names like Jimmy Keane, Pat Broaders, Dean Milano and Fareed Haque gracing the stage. The remaining schedule for the season is as follows:

• July 25: Jordi Kleiner & Friends combine rock, folk, Irish music, blues and string music.

• Aug, 1: At 11 a.m., Lakeside Breeze will play a diverse range of music genres and instruments. Then at 12:45 p.m., Buddha Blue Band will play blues and soul music.

• Aug. 8: At 11 a.m., Radio Free Honduras will play Latin Folk music. At 12:45 p.m., Akasha will perform with a '70s authentic reggae sound.

• Aug. 15: At 11 a.m., Off The Wagon will play acoustic country and jazz. At 12:45 p.m., the Don Stiernberg Trio will play mandolin jazz music.

• Aug. 22: Open Mic at 11 a.m. Then at 12:45 p.m., the Neal Alger Trio will perform jazz music.

• Aug. 29: 11 a.m. Departure will play covers of The Grateful Dead's hit songs.

"We look forward to this musical summer continuing at Jens Jensen Park, expanding cultural arts appreciation throughout the community," said Noah Plotkin, event coordinator and owner of Life Rhythms Inc.

Jammin' at Jens Jensen Park is sponsored by The Highland Park Community Foundation, Life Rhythms Inc., Field Violin Workshop, Phil Goldman Photographic Design and Uncle Dan's.
