Explore wonders of McDonald Farm with Passport to Adventure

Grab the spyglass and embrace your inner explorer with a Passport to Adventure searching and learning at local museums and nature centers in Kane and DuPage counties.

The Conservation Foundation's McDonald Farm in Naperville is one of the destinations compiled by the Kane-DuPage Regional Museum Association along with numerous other sites of interest for families to explore and enjoy.

Pick up a free passport at McDonald Farm and begin the journey as you explore the Farm's environs including the butterfly garden, children's garden, and rain gardens. Wander the grounds by the big barn to learn about the Sustainability Project showing how renewable energy works using sunlight, the wind, and rainwater harvesting systems.

Before leaving be sure to get your Passport stamped to verify your visit before heading off to the next destination. Some of the sites offer a prize if a certain number of locations are visited and stamped.

KDRMA's Passport to Adventure program is available all summer through Labor Day at numerous sites of interest. For a complete list of participating museums, go to the website at kdrma.org.

McDonald Farm is open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and is located at 10S404 Knoch Knolls Rd., Naperville, 60565.

The Conservation Foundation is one of the region's largest and oldest private conservation organizations, with more than 4,000 members and donors, and more than 500 volunteers who contribute 20,000 hours per year.
