Second Lombard Ale Fest features Food, Drink and Fun

The 2nd Annual Lombard Ale Fest will take place on Saturday, June 13th, 2015. Situated in the heart of downtown Lombard, the fest will feature over 80 unique beers from more than 50 craft breweries around the country and food from some of Lombard's finest restaurants and the area's most popular food trucks. The fest will be a celebration of summer seasonal beers, craft ciders, food and live music.

"We are excited about this year's event," says event coordinator Robert Difino of the Glenbard East Booster Club. "In addition to our historic and beautiful venue we will have fabulous food and music. Lilacia Park is adjacent to the UP West Metra platform which makes the event highly accessible"

Brewers presenting at the Lombard Ale Fest include 51st Ward, Allagash, Break Room, Dog Fish, Emmett's, Firestone Walker, Flesk, Left Hand Brewery, Laganitas and Kona Brewing from Hawaii. Local favorites include Pollyanna Brewing, Revolution, Solemn Oath and Two Brothers. Guests can also sample in the Home Brew Tent featuring Spent Grain Society. In addition, hard cider brewers include Angry Orchard, Crispin, Vander Mill and Virtue.

It wouldn't be a festival without great local food and the food trucks will represent the best of Lombard including Gianorio's Pizza, Miller's Ale House and Shannon's Corner Butcher Shoppe and Deli, as well as Chicago's favorite hand pies from Bridgeport Pasty.

Toe tapping will be encouraged by the Whisky Creek Band, The Enablurz and the Midlothian Scottish Pipe Band.

Proceeds from the fest will benefit nonprofit organizations in the Lombard community, including the Glenbard East Booster Club and Lombard Town Centre, who are serving as hosts for the event. The Booster Club supports student events at Glenbard East High School, while Lombard Town Centre is dedicated to preserving and promoting business and activities in Historic Downtown Lombard.
