Villagewide garage sale brings communities together May 29-30

East and West Dundee residents have joined together for a villagewide garage sale scheduled for Friday, May 29 and Saturday, May 30.

Bargain hunters who come early will find budget-pleasing deals and treasures of all kinds as residents open their homes up to interested buyers. Visitors can keep their eyes open for bright garage sale signs which were provided by a local real estate team, Kate and Dick Schumacher from Baird & Warner Realty.

A simple map and list of participating residences is available both online and copies are available at The Depot and both East and West Dundee village hall.

Avid shoppers can get a jump on the weekend by visiting Immanuel Lutheran's annual rummage sale that kicks off on Thursday, May 29 and continues Friday, May 30 and Saturday May 31. The church is at 310 E. Main St. in East Dundee. In addition, the veteran-priority Gardiner Place is also opening its doors at 251 River Haven Place, just off Route 25, in East Dundee.

Shoppers of all ages can also uncover some surprising finds at the Dundee Township's Saturday Depot Market celebrating its 26th season. On Sunday, visitors can stock up on fresh produce and food products at the Sunday Farmers Market. Both are held at The Depot, 319 N. River St. in East Dundee. Hours for the Depot Market are 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; the Farmers Market hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

"It's a great way to meet neighbors and find some cool stuff," quipped East Dundee Village President Lael Miller. "Our area has some pretty cool history, so you can occasionally find something that is really unique and different. The Saturday market is like a walk down memory lane with all its collectibles."
