Book signing fundraiser for Vision of Restoration

On Nov. 15, on a snowy Saturday night, the Acquaviva Wine Bar in St. Charles was the place to be.

Nicole Poole-Lawson, founder of Sisters Serving Volunteer Organization, hosted a fundraiser and book signing at the venue for Vision of Restoration in Maywood, Ill.

Vision of Restoration is an nonprofit organization whose mission is repairing the breach in the community and advancing the welfare, quality of living, and unity of residents in the area by providing both comprehensive and rehabilitative programs and services that include mental health and social services, career development and enrichment, housing assistance, economic development and educational services.

Chicago authors Chiara Talluto, an employee of Acquaviva Wine Bar, along with Dan Burns, read excerpts from their novels, and signed purchased books. There were fabulous raffles and door prizes, great food, great company, all to raise money for a worthy cause. All proceeds from the raffles went to the Vision of Restoration to purchase and distribute food and other necessities for the upcoming holiday season.

Thanks goes out to the following: Acquaviva Wine Bar for providing the venue; Sisters Serving Volunteer Organization for hosting the event for Vision of Restoration; Acquaviva Winery in Maple Park for donating a wine basket; MH Photography & Design for donating 12 fine arts landscapes; and the authors for donating proceeds from book sales to Vision of Restoration.
