Seat belt enforcement zones conducted for Thanksgiving

West Chicago, Illinois - The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is partnering with the Illinois State Police and nearly 250 local law enforcement agencies to crack down on seat belt law violators during a Click It or Ticket Campaign now through Thanksgiving weekend.

More than 700 Safety Belt Enforcement Zones (SBEZs) will be conducted across Illinois during this high visibility enforcement campaign period. The enforcement period began Nov. 18, 2014 at several high visibility locations throughout West Chicago and concludes on Dec. 1, 2014.

More than half of the SBEZs will be conducted during nighttime hours, when seat belt use is typically at its lowest.

Historically, the Thanksgiving holiday is one of the busiest travel times of the year. The men and women of the West Chicago Police Department wish you and your family a happy and safe Thanksgiving.
