Here's a sunset taken with a Canon Sure Shot SX20 in Kihei, Maui Charles Brown of Naperville
I took this photograph in the rolling hills of Custer State Park, South Dakota. I like this color contrast of the sandy color fall grasses and the gray of the approaching storm. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
This week in between raindrops, I strolled Cantigny's garden to enjoy the remaining flowers and the beautiful fall colors. There was hardly anyone there. They missed out on some amazing bits of nature. Jean E. Roe of Warrenville
Driving through a parking lot, in Wheaton, I saw these geese sitting in their parking spaces. It made me laugh, so I had to stop and take this photo. Wonder what they were thinking. Sherie Huber of Glen Ellyn
I took this photo last week in a pond near our home. The Great Egret looks like a bird that should be down in a warmer climate. When you see it up on a tree limb it looks out of place. When you take a photo of it you had better shoot it to the dark side so as to preserve the detail in the white. The original was in color but the overwhelming color of the background took away from the stately appearance of the bird, so I converted it to black and white. Tony Pocewicz, of Carpentersville
I took this photo during mid-October, when I visited Blackwell Forest Preserve near Warrenville, IL. The many maple trees in the picnic area next to Silver Lake were stunning this year---showing fire engine reds, bright oranges, and golden yellows---sometimes all in the same tree! Mike Weimer of St. Charles
