See if your heirlooms are treasures at East Dundee Antique Appraisal Faire

The village of East Dundee will host its Antique Appraisal Faire on Saturday, Sept. 27. The event is held during the Saturday Depot Market, 319 N. River St., East Dundee. It is available to anyone interested in determining the value of items they own.

Two appraisers from MIR Appraisal Services Inc., currently celebrating 20 years in the appraisal business, will be on hand to conduct the appraisals. The appraisers attending the Depot Market have a combined appraisal experience spanning more than 30 years. The appraisers will be at the Depot between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

For those interested in getting an appraisal, registration will begin at 10 a.m. There will be a $10 charge per item appraised and a limit of two items.

As an added benefit, those interested in learning about the appraisal process and how best to determine the value of your personal items, there will be a brief discussion presented by Mir Appraisal Services at noon.

"Every community is unique and we've enjoyed coming out to the Dundee area during the Depot Market on Saturdays," said Farhad Radfar, director of Mir Appraisal Services Inc.

MIR Appraisal Services Inc. specializes in appraising fine and decorative art, jewelry, antiques, furniture, and vintage couture. It abides by the International Society of Appraisers code of ethics. Appraisers treat each item with care and respect. They will examine items for appraisal giving their opinion as to the fair market value, condition, medium and information regarding the artist or maker.
