EISUS Fun Fest

Committed to a Cure

The EISUS Fun Fest will be held on Sunday afternoon, September 28th, 2014 at Lions Field in Villa Park. This newest venture of the Susan Jurkonis Memorial Scholarship Foundation will be devoted to families as it raises funds for the American Brain Tumor Association. With a goal of being "Committed to the Cure" for brain tumors, volunteers will help families play games for children and adults as they also enjoy the live band Unhinged.

Festivities will begin at 2:30 and continue until 5:30. Raffle tickets, pizza, beverages, and fun will fill the afternoon. Adults will use their tickets to participate in games similar to the Minute to Win It format and children will use their tickets to play at numerous fun games as well as have their faces painted. Entry to the event is free and the Foundation hopes participants will be actively involved in the games to raise funds for the research needed to find a cure for brain tumors.

Unhinged is a rock 'n blues band that was formed in 1995 and for over 15 years the band has performed at various establishments, summer festivals, and benefit shows in the Chicago area. Influences are Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Stevie Wonder, AC/DC, Del Amitri, Tonic, Tom Petty, ZZ Top, and MANY MANY more!!!!! Bring your own chair so you can comfortably listen to the band.

The Susan Jurkonis Memorial Scholarship Foundation was founded in 1999. Susan was a member of the Purdue Volleyball Team when she was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor at the age of 19. After 29 months of utilizing her fighting spirit, Susan lost her battle to this type of cancer. The Foundation's goals are to commend outstanding student-athletes at Willowbrook with scholarships, to provide funding support for brain tumor research, and to remember Susan. 100% of the proceeds from this year's EISUS Fun Fest will go to the American Brain Tumor Association

In case of rain, come ahead because the event will be held inside the Villa Park Recreation Department Building at Lions Field at 320 East Wildwood in Villa Park.
