Fairies Gather at a Magical Fairy Fest

Cumberland Terrace was transformed into an enchanted realm as twenty tiny fairies celebrated the second Fairy Festival of Fun on Saturday, June 21. The fest included playtime for outdoor fun and games and creative crafting. Little wings fluttered as the fairies searched for paper pixies and captured them in oversized nets, raced to carry pixie dust across the lawn, and transported "magic beans" on spoons into cups held by magic mushrooms. Indoors, the fairies made arts and crafts projects including hand-colored wearable elf ears, bejeweled fairy wands, and a fairy garden house made in old-fashioned Ball jars using twigs, leaves, bark, and stones the fairies found in the woods. "The Fest gives girls an opportunity to dress up, make new friends, and use their imagination," said Cindy Yelich, Special Events Supervisor.
