AquaSprites Synchro Swim Team medal at regionals

The AquaSprites Synchro Swim Team, Lattof YMCA, Des Plaines, were awarded eight Gold, five Silver and two Bronze medals at the U.S. Synchronized Swimming Regional B Championship held at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis, Indiana, in May.

The region includes teams from Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Wisconsin associations. Top three in each association; Solo, Duet, Trio and Team qualified for regional competition.

The AquaSprites three teams took Gold for all four meets attended this season:

The 11-12 Int. Gold Team: Alexandra Dorula, Prospect Heights; Alice Duska, Chicago; Ema Glavanovic, Des Plaines; and Olivia Herman, Park Ridge. Alexandra, Alice and Ema were first in Trio, Ema was first and Alexandra second in Figures.

The 13-15 Int. Gold Team: Christina Chase, Schaumburg; Rebecca Garcia Stam, Libertyville; Chaewon Park, Mount Prospect; Clemence Rodney, Chicago; and Olivia Vasilakopoulos, Park Ridge. 13-15 Trio Gold, Rebecca, Olivia V. and Olivia H. Chaewon received Gold for her solo performance, Christina received first for Figures and Clemence, third.

The 16-17 Gold Team members: Barbara Garcia Stam, Libertyville; Alice and Katie Kenny, Mount Prospect; and Megan Moyer, Barrington. 16-17 Trio Silver, Alice, Barbara, Katie. Silver 16-17 Solo Silver, Megan.

The 18-19 Duet Bronze: Sasha Boudko, Wadsworth; and Jenna Gudritz, Mount Prospect. Sasha also received a Silver for Solo and Figure competition.

The 16-17 and 18-19 routines have qualified and will attend the Age Group Championships in Federal Way, Washington, June 30-July 5.
