Pooch Parade is a howlin’ good time

Light drizzle didn’t stop costumed pups and their humans from enjoying Schaumburg Park District’s Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade. The event featured an agility course competition, musical chairs, hot dogs and costume contests.

“We had a blast,” said Katie Capalungan, who brought dog Grouper. “It’s a great opportunity for dogs to socialize.”

Pups dressed as superheroes, dinosaurs and other animals competed in friendly contests for treats and toys.

The event concluded with a parade around Meineke Park.

Halloween events continue Oct. 19 with Family Pumpkin Carving from 10 a.m. to noon at Bock Neighborhood Center, 1223 W. Sharon Lane, and the Great Pumpkin Halloween Dodgeball Tournament at 10 a.m. at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road.
