Welcome Autumn with a Walk on a “Pathway to Peace”

Arlington Heights, Illinois – September 22nd – Mark the beginning of autumn with a unique guided walk at Congregational United Church of Christ (1001 W. Kirchoff Road, Arlington Heights, IL 60005).

The walk will take place in the outdoor labyrinth behind the Congregational United Church of Christ (CUCC). The CUCC labyrinth is a winding path, based on a circular design that represents unity and wholeness and bridges many cultures and faith traditions. “[Our labyrinth is] a pathway to relaxation, healing, inspiration, problem-solving, spiritual connection and peace,” explains CUCC member Roberta Ward.

On the Fall Equinox, the earth experiences equal amounts of daylight and darkness. This balance of light signals the start of autumn, a season characterized by changing leaves, nights that slowly grow longer, and days that slowly grow shorter.

This year, the Fall Equinox will occur on Sunday, September 22nd. To celebrate the beauty and balance found in the natural world during this season of change, facilitators from the Congregational United Church of Christ will host a labyrinth walk for the community. Participants will experience the transition from day to night and have an opportunity to reflect on the autumnal themes of balance and change within their own lives. The September 22nd event will begin at 6:30 pm and last approximately 45 minutes.

Additional labyrinth walks to honor All Saints Day and Advent are planned. To learn more, please contact Congregational United Church of Christ at 847-392-6650 or visit http://congucc.org/.
