Two local AAUW STEM scholarships awarded
Rachel Lily Terry of Lindenhurst and Emma Castanos of Gurnee are the 2013-2014 academic year recipients of the $500 STEM scholarships offered by the Waukegan Area Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW).
The Waukegan Area Branch annually provides educational funding for girls interested in science, technology, engineering, and math via the STEM scholarship.
Rachel graduated from Lakes Community High School and Emma from Warren Township High School.
Both young ladies will be attending the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, with classes beginning just after Labor Day.
