Tri-village Relay another big success
On behalf of the Hanover Township officials and all the staff and volunteers, I would like to thank the community for their outpouring of support for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood event last month.
For the past three years Hanover Township has had the privilege to host the Relay For Life of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood.
More than 1 million people are diagnosed with cancer every year. Cancer has no limits on age, sex, race, etc. It is something that affects all of us and it is up to us to help fight for a cure. This year we had more than 60 teams totaling 390 participants take part in the Relay. With their help, over $43,752 was raised to heighten awareness and help find a cure for cancer.
Donations will continue to be accepted until Aug. 31. To make a donation for the Relay For Life of Bartlett, Hanover Park and Streamwood, please visit www.relayforlife.org/bartlettil.
It is because of each and every one of you that these events have such a high success rate and show a stunning amount of community involvement and support. Each day, over 400 lives are saved due to the cancer research funded through these organizations and events.
We continue to be overwhelmed by the tremendous support our residents, neighbors and friends show during these sponsored events.
Thank you again to everyone who participated donated and supported the Relay For Life event and we look forward to a bigger, more successful event next year!
