Submitted by Palatine Park District

The 2013 Palatine Stingray Travelers U12 girls softball team concluded another successful tournament with a 4-1 hard fought championship victory over a Diamond Sports Academy Y2K squad in the 26 team Trevian Classic in Wilmette.

The Stingrays outscored their opponents 34-2 in the tournament behind sound defense, powerful pitching and aggressive hitting.

The Lady Stingray Travelers have now won five of the seven tournaments they have played in this season, compiling an impressive 40 and 5 record during that span, with a 30 and 3 record in tournament play. Three of the tournament victories were in USSSA, NSA and ASA national championship qualifiers.

All of the girls on the team played PYBS house ball and are from either the Fremd or Palatine high school districts, which makes the season even more successful considering many games have been played against clubs that recruit from this region.

The 2013 Stingray Travelers are: Alyssa Honickel, Maddie Aichinger, Anna Selleck, Grace Seiffert, Isabella Wojcik, Morgan Miller, Jenny Myslinski, Nicole Kehoe, Emily Parrott, Lexi D’Ambrosio and Haley Robinson. The girls are led by manager Mike Wojcik and coaches Mark Miller, Tammy Parrott and

Jim D’Ambrosio.

The 2013 U12 Girls Palatine Travelers Team is part of the Palatine Youth Baseball/Softball program. Palatine Youth Baseball/Softball is an affiliate of the Palatine Park District.
