Junior High Student Wins State Art Competition With An Unusual Craft Project

Schaumburg, IL - Junior High student Alianna Vazquez decided that she was going to take a different approach to her arts and crafts projects. Alianna started collecting pop tops over a year ago and began creating her own masterpiece. . .a pop-top dress made with recycled pop tops.

It took a year's worth of determination and skill to complete the hand-made, floor-length gown which consists of approximately 6000 pop tops. The dress was entered into the Junior High Illinois Association of Christian Schools State Art Competition where it won first place in the craft category.

Alianna was very excited to hear the news and is now looking forward to next year's competition. Who knows what she will come up with next.
