Hanover Twp. now offering job counseling

Hanover Township has started job counseling, where staff work one-on-one with residents to develop a personalized plan and employment search for all types of work. Counseling is available from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Astor Avenue Community Center, 7431 Astor Ave., Hanover Park, and the township’s community relations office, One American Way, Elgin. The township also recently launched a Job Club that meets 9-11 a.m. on the first and third Monday of every month at the township office, 250 S. Route 59, Bartlett and discusses resume writing and interview techniques, among other topics. In 2012, Hanover Township’s unemployment rate was higher than both the state and national averages.
