Purchase hard-to-find plant varieties at the Spring Valley Nature Club Herb and Vegetable Sale

The Spring Valley Nature Club is sponsoring the inaugural Heirloom Herb and Vegetable Sale at the Backyards for Nature Fair and Native Plant Sale set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., May 5 at Spring Valley Nature Center, 1111 E. Schaumburg Road.

The Nature Club has sought out unusual, delicious and hard-to-find plant varieties. Plants available for sale include nine varieties of tomatoes chosen for unique features and robust flavors, seven hard-to-find herb species that add beauty, flavor and interest to gardens and patios, and 18 varieties of vegetables. All plants are mature and ready for planting in garden and patio containers.

Pre-ordering is recommended. Pre-order deadline is April 26. Plants will be available for pick-up at the Backyards for Nature Fair and Native Plant Sale. Order forms are available at parkfun.com or by calling (847) 985-2100.
