Endorsements: Dato, Feryance, McHugh, Weber for Wauconda Dist. 118 board

Wauconda Unit D118 board incumbents Deby Dato, Jonathan Feryance, Carey McHugh, Thomas A. Weber Sr. and newcomer David Patterson seek four open seats on April 9. Dato says the budget is in great shape, she would like to expand the Wee Kids program and she has time to invest on the board. Feryance pushes to keep a balanced budget, is student-focused and would like to see an at-home program that promotes good study skills. McHugh wants foreign language on all levels but is aware of the financial challenges. She vows to stay involved. Weber has helped to develop strong relationships with the community, municipalities, businesses and the park district. He has 18 years of board experience and is passionate for students and education. Incumbents Dato, Feryance, McHugh and Weber are endorsed for their history of hard work and dedication to the district. Patterson’s 21 years of teaching experience certainly is useful for a school board, but the strength of the incumbents’ leadership experience and varied backgrounds merits their return.
