Eighth grade Future Rams clinch league championship

The Future Rams eighth grade basketball team finished an outstanding season last weekend by sweeping the DuPage Youth Traveling Basketball League championship tournament. The team finished the season with a 24 –2 record in the competitive Gold Division, and 33-2 overall. They also took first place in the annual Future Ram Tournament earlier this year.

Coaches Tom Borosak and Brandon Jones took on the team four years ago, shortly after they both graduated from Glenbard East. The following year, another East graduate, Dan Rocco, stepped in to help coach and stayed for the next three seasons.

In their first year, the boys finished at the very bottom of the league's silver division. They improved each season, and this championship was a fitting finish to their four-year journey.

“It's been an amazing experience watching these boys progress over the past four years,” said Borosak. “We've had a great time, something that will never be forgotten. All the credit goes to these kids. Their hard work and dedication to the coaches and to each other paid off. They worked to improve as a group, rather than as individuals—that's the Ram Basketball way. I could not be prouder of these guys.“
