Local dentist marks National Children's Dental Health Month

Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children's Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. NCDHM messages and materials have reached millions of people in communities across the country.

Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.

While visiting Myers Road KinderCare, Dr. Blacher explained the importance of regular dental care to the 4 and 5 year olds. With the hope of helping the children develop a lifetime of good oral health habits, he demonstrated proper brushing techniques and spoke with the children about good nutrition. Dr. Blacher also passed out goodie bags containing toothbrushes, toothpaste and a timer, which will tell the children how long to brush.
