Now that first semester is over, is your child struggling or falling behind in their learning? The Hanover Township tutoring program may be able to help. Every parent wants the best education for their children. With today's busy schedules, homework is increasingly becoming overwhelming and parents are finding it difficult to help their children with their school work. Most parents have a mix of emotions seeing their child at home after a full day of school with multiple hours of homework to be completed.

Certified primary and secondary education teachers who specialize in assisting students with homework comprehension and completion, will work with small groups of students based on age, subject matter, and learning needs identified by referring teachers. Students, who attend regularly and bring their school materials/assignments to each session, improve in academic performance and become more self-confident.

For a tutoring application, please visit and click Youth and Family Services under the "Department" tab. Tutoring is offered on Tuesday or Thursday evenings at the Streamwood High School Sabre Center at 701 W. Schaumburg Road, in Streamwood.

English as a Second Language/Spanish Tutoring Services for elementary students is offered at the Hanover Township Community Relations Office at One American Way, Elgin. The fee is $45 per child per semester and payment plans are available. Students must live in Hanover Township and must be currently enrolled in grades 2-12. Out-of-township residents can call (630) 483-5799 for information. Parents/guardians for second- through eighth-grade students must remain in the building during their child's Tutoring Session.

For questions about the Hanover Township tutoring program, please call (630) 483-5799 or visit under the Youth and Family Services Department.
