Bike ride, 5K run part of Palatine parks’ spring health expo

Palatine Park District will present the second annual Healthy Living Expo from 8 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Birchwood Recreation Center, 435 W. Illinois Ave., Palatine.

The goal of the event is to provide those in attendance with the opportunity to connect with area businesses in the health, wellness and environmental industries. Last year’s Healthy Living event drew over 300 participants.

The Healthy Living Expo is once again being offered in conjunction with the Healthy Living 5K Run. A new 12-mile Healthy Living Bike Ride is being added this year as well, in partnership with the Bike Palatine Club.

The park district is now accepting applications from area businesses in environmental, health and wellness fields that would like to participate in the Healthy Living Expo. Interested parties should contact Joshua Ludolph, recreation manager, at (847) 496-6242 or jludolph@palatineparks.org for more information and to obtain an application.

The mission of Palatine Park District is to provide a variety of safe, enjoyable and affordable parks and recreation facilities and activities that will enhance the quality of life by promoting good health and well-being for all residents and visitors of the Palatine Park District.
