We must invest in the park district

I fully support the Arlington Heights Park District referendum and urge my fellow residents to vote YES!

I have coached basketball for the past three years and our gyms are the same as when I played 35 years ago! A community with our size, wealth, and resources should not be playing and practicing in such antiquated facilities.

I doubt any of the "No" supporters have tried to conduct a basketball practice or play a game in these facilities. I suspect they are the same contingent of "No" voters on any such referendums, whether they be for the schools, library or parks.

A community cannot afford to stand still, we must constantly invest in our infrastructure, if we don't, our community will be a less desirable place to live. Just like a home, one must always invest, remodel and retool to keep the house from falling into disrepair.

As such we must do the same with our gyms and facilities, your children and grandchildren and all the citizens of Arlington Heights will reap the benefits!
