Palatine Panther Wrestling Club now accepting registration

Under the leadership of Ralph Cortez, Fremd High School wrestling coach, the Palatine Panther Wrestling program provides children with the opportunity to learn more about this popular sport. The program is for ages 7 to 14 and will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays from Oct. 31 through Feb. 27, in the Fremd High School Wrestling Room, 1000 S. Quentin Road, Palatine.

All levels from beginner to advanced are welcome to participate and will have the opportunity to compete in various weekend tournaments. Weekly practices will stress the fundamentals of the sport. Everyone will get the opportunity to wrestle during the season. Headgear, singlets, and T-shirts will be provided. There will be a parent meeting on the first night of practice, Oct. 31.

The fee for the program is $115 for residents, $173 for nonresidents, and $140 for nonresidents within Palatine or Fremd High School boundaries. The program also offers a $25 sibling discount for the second child.

For information about the club, contact Panther Wrestling Club president Bill LaSchiava at (847) 560-3239.
