Your news Palatine Park Foundation hosts Casual Cocktails scholarship fundraiser

The Palatine Park Foundation will be hosting its annual fundraiser, 2012 Casual Cocktails, from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8.

This event will be held at Heng Wing Restaurant, 121 W. Palatine Road, Palatine. The ticket cost of $50 includes one drink and a wide selection of Heng Wing’s appetizers. Raffles and a small silent auction will also take place during the event.

All event proceeds will benefit the Foundation Scholarship Program which provides financial assistance to Palatine Park District residents who cannot afford to participate in the district’s various athletic, recreational and social programs.

To purchase tickets for 2012 Casual Cocktails, contact Carl Arthur, Palatine Park Foundation president, at carl.arthur@att.net or (847) 910-2944. Tickets can also be purchased at the Palatine Park District Community Center, 250 E. Wood St., or from any of the foundation members: Sen. Matt Murphy, Jack O’Connor, Jim Lennon, Thommy MacNiff-Kolb, Don Skinner and Dutch Schultz. Tickets will also be available at the door.

The Palatine Park Foundation’s vision is to contribute to the health and well-being of the Palatine Park District’s residents by providing program scholarship opportunities to residents with financial limitations, assisting in preserving “open space” in the Palatine Park District area, and providing funding assistance for projects or events that provide physical accessibility to all. The Palatine Park Foundation is a nonprofit corporation; all donations are fully tax deductible as charitable contributions.
