Mascheri, a 5-foot-9 left-hander, posted a 2.29 ERA with 10 saves in 26 appearances for the CornBelters.

He was assigned to the Yankees' rookie team in the Gulf Coast League.

"We are very happy for Rich and he has been a great player for us this year," CornBelters team president Steve Malliet said on the team's website. "The Yankees are one of Major League Baseball's cornerstone organizations, and he should be proud to be joining them."
