Street Theatre performs “Jack and the Beanstalk”

Enjoy quality entertainment throughout Schaumburg.

Schaumburg Park District Street Theatre, made up of a talented bunch of young thespians, will perform its last free family friendly play of the summer, “Jack and the Beanstalk”, beginning July 9 at Addams School, 700 S. Springinsguth Road.

In this version of the familiar folktale, Jack's father has been kidnapped by the terrible giant who lives in the clouds. Jack must sell his family's beloved cow Buttercup to save them from starvation. He ends up trading her for a handful of magic beans which sprout into a beanstalk. Jack climbs into the sky, saves his father and destroys the evil giant with the help of his fairy.

Street Theatre performs at 7 p.m. every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at locations throughout the District.

•July 26 at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way

The audience is encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs.
