Buffalo Grove meeting on funds for business

An event to help current and new local businesses owners access the capital they need for success will take place from 3-4:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, at the Buffalo Grove Chamber Building & Youth Center, 501 Raupp Blvd., in Buffalo Grove. The Advantage Illinois program, sponsored by Rep. Sid Mathias in cooperation with the Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity, will include information on the Capital Access Program, which assists businesses with various financing needs by encouraging banks to make loans to small and new businesses that do not qualify under conventional lending policies, the Participation Loan Program, which supports businesses with projects that create or retain jobs and/or modernize their businesses to improve competitiveness, the Collateral Support Program, which establishes savings accounts or CDs that provide cash collateral support to lending institutions to enhance the equity and/or loan collateral levels of small business borrowers, and the Invest Illinois Venture Fund Program, a new venture capital program to support young, innovative companies in Illinois that show high growth potential and already have other investors.
