Elgin

• Robert Swain, 28, of Naperville, was arrested and charged with unlawful use of a weapon Thursday, according to police reports. Swain had a spring-loaded knife in his pocket when he was arrested, reports said. He posted a $150 cash bond and was released with a court date scheduled July 7, in St. Charles.

• Kemall Johnson, 24, of Elgin, was arrested and charged with criminal trespass at 10 p.m. Thursday, according to police reports. Johnson had been banned from the Buena Vista properties of the 1200 block of Fleetwood Drive, where he was arrested, reports said. He posted a $150 cash bond and was released with a court date scheduled July 7.

• DeShawn Porter, 19, of the 1200 block of Abbott Drive, Elgin, was arrested and charged with trespassing Monday, according to police reports. Porter entered a house at the 1100 block of Royal Boulevard looking for a man who he said owed him marijuana, reports said. Porter did not leave after being asked multiple times, reports said. Porter was released and is due in court June 19.

• Karlynn Coiley, 48, of the 1500 block of Mark Avenue, Elgin, was arrested and charged with retail theft and disorderly conduct Monday, according to police reports. Coiley stole two water bottles from a Speedway on Big Timber Road and threatened to kill the employee, reports said. Coiley left the store and later returned and searched her bag for what the employee believed to be a gun, reports said. Bail was set at $5,000, of which Coiley must pay 10 percent to be released before her next court date, scheduled July 7. in Elgin.

Algonquin

• James Manski, 26, of the 600 block of Hackberry Lane, Algonquin, was arrested and charged with selling alcohol to a minor at 2:41 p.m. Saturday, according to police reports. He was released and is due in court June 27, in Algonquin.

• A 16-year-old girl from Woodstock was arrested and charged with retail theft from the Kohl's on Randall Road at 3:37 p.m. Saturday, according to police reports. She was referred to a peer jury and later released to her parents.

• John Berg, 59, of the 1100 block of Pine Street, Lake in the Hills, was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition without a valid FOID card at 1:04 p.m. Monday, according to police reports. Berg was released after posting a $150 cash bond and is due in court July 11.

• A 17-year-old boy from Algonquin was arrested and charge with domestic battery and criminal damage to property at 4:54 p.m. Monday, according to police reports. He was sent to juvenile court and later released to his parents.
