Arlington Hgts. Park District tax hike well worth the money

Thank you Daily Herald for endorsing a “yes” vote for the Arlington Heights Park District.

I understand why some people would be concerned about spending a few extra dollars here and there, including for our great park district. But I am voting yes for the park district because it’s money well spent.

The park district website has a tax calculator that I used to find out my taxes would only go up about $40 a year. Even factoring in the entire time for the new bonds, my own personal part is well worth it.

Clearly my home will increase in value when the new rec centers are built. I’m sure that will more than make up the difference almost right away. And, with the new indoor walking and jogging tracks, the modern gyms and more and better sports fields my family and I will have more places to exercise and stay healthy.

That alone could easily save money in future health costs. For only a few more dollars a month I am pleasantly surprised that so many good things can be done.

Join me and vote yes for the park district!
