Post offices in Fox Lake and Ingleside will be hosting a food drive for the Grant Township Food Pantry Saturday, Nov. 19. People are asked to place a food donation either in or by their mailbox, and mail carriers will pick it up and deliver it to the township. Even the smallest donation can make a difference in someone's life. The food pantry is also looking for cash donations as well as nonperishable items. With a cash donation, the money goes further because of our ability to purchase through the Northern Illinois Food Pantry. People who prefer to donate food items, people should plan to put in pancake mix, syrup, peanut butter and jelly, pudding mix, snacks, pasta & sauce, canned meat and tuna, beef stew, canned chili, stuffing, juice drink mixes, mashed potatoes, canned fruit, Manwich, cereal and oatmeal, pie crust mixes, dish soap, toilet paper, tissues, and toiletries. Food and monetary donations can also be brought to the Grant Township Center, 26725 W. Molidor Rd. The food pantry is open from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
